jordan, november 2018

We took a 5 days trip to Jordan during November, which is in my opinion best month to visit this country. We’ve got no rain, just sun, temp around 22-25 degrees Celsius which makes it best conditions to walk through Petra City and spend time in a desert. To enter the country you need a visa and valid passport. We knew (actually from the beginning) how we’re gonna spend our 5 days in Jordan, so in our case the most cost-effective option was purchasing Jordan Pass, instead of getting visa and tickets to Petra separately.

Our plan was to experience: Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea. We decided to buy Jordan Passes in advance (to do so you need your passport number). Jordan Pass is package that includes visa to Jordan and entrance to most of all of the sights in the country, including Petra city.

We arrived to Amman and straight away rented a car (booked through Rentalcars- credit card (not debit) is a must) and drove to Wadi Musa, where we spent 2 nights in Petra Palace Hotel. Hotel is located 350 m away from entrance to Petra. It takes at least 2 days to visit Petra. Don’t go without a bottle of water per person! Friend of ours has been to Petra some weeks before us and made Petra in 1 day- it is possible, but quite intense as he said:)

After visiting Petra on the second day we left to Wadi Rum to experience night in a bedouin camp and see around the Wadi Rum desert. We slept in Wadi Rum Quiet Village- probably best place to spend a night in Wadi Rum village at all. After we arrived, we’ve got to eat delicious dinner with other travelers and smoke shisha by the cosy fire place. The next morning we took Jeep Tour to see the Wadi Rum’s highlights, it took around 6 hrs. Same day in the afternoon we left to Amman. Driving through Amman during the evening hours was experience I won’t forget- that’s for sure… 😉 In Amman we booked Sydney Hotel, which is quite good located, but I wouldn’t recommend it for more than one night.

We didn’t go sightseeing in Amman as we arrived around 9pm and planned to drive to Dead Sea in the morning. We only went out to eat the best hummus ever in a place called ’Hashem Restaurant’. It’s street food, which serves best food we ate in Jordan (even better than the best restaurant in Wadi Musa called Al Wadi Restaurant- but they do serve camel kebab!).

In the very morning at the last day of our trip we left to the Dead Sea, we paid for access to the beach including Dead Sea muld, showers, buffet lunch and resting at the hotel pool. Spent some hours over there enjoying this palce a lot (!) and then came back to Amman to take flight back home.
