hidra, november 2020

We’ve got to know about place like Hidra from our friend Sylwia who used to live there in a van for couple of months! One time we went to Hidra to visit her. We could see from just driving around that this place is so charming that we want to explore it more. That time unfortunately weather didn’t help to fulfil the plan, as it was rainy and windy.
We made decision to come back one day, soonest. This 'soonest’ took us 2 years…but we finally found a nice weather spot in…November. We packed the car with camping equipment and hit the road. Since November days are much much shorter and sun is up on sky for only few hours we left from Kristiansand the day before to fully use these hours of daylight that were forecasted for the next day.
We have had really nice sunny weather, perfect for a hike. You can say Hidra is divided in 2 bigger parts/peninsulas- Rasvåg and Hågåsen with Kirkehavn. We chose 7 km walk through Rasvåg.
A medium challenging roundtrip starting and finishing in the cosy fishing village with many nice views over the ocean, but also with parts leading through the forest only.

To get to the island you have to take ferry from the mainland.
We paid 212 NOK for both ways for car+2 ppl
From mainland to Hidra you take: Launes – Kvellandstrand
